I have lived a thousand years

in the summer of 1943 when Elli, twelve, longs for the exciting life led by her older brother, Bubi. Elli spends her days doing typical things young girls of her age do with her friend Bonnie and she sometimes go to the Danube to swim. The river also serves as a place for watering herds of animals, such as sheep.
Elli lives with her parents at a time when Germans are threatening most people, other than the Aryan race. Elli and her family, Jews, are soon targeted. They are forced to wear the bright yellow star on their clothing at all times, Elli refused at first to go out, though Bubi wears the star like a badge of honor. When Elli attends a final school function, the school having been closed due to the impending war. She encounters a classmate who notes the star on her coat. Elli notes the sadness in his eyes as he looks at the emblem and it seems that he already knows that those of Elli's fate will be facing hardships in the days to come.

If I was president

If I was president I would use a portion of taxes to give to the homeless, 3rd world countries and struggling collage students. I would keep DACA, and make school lunches better because I'm pretty sure kids don't want food that bounces and to have their cheese to taste like plastic. I would raise the salary for teachers, social workers and whoever dresses up as santa at the mall. Kids won't have to wear uniforms only ID's and in troubled neighborhoods police officers would be almost everywhere where they are children to prevent illegal activities. More field trips in school by/ kids don't want to sit in a classroom all day even if we are playing games or  have free time.

News of (last) week

Thick smoke filled the sky as a loud bang cur though the city. Firefighters ran in front of one of the towers with their hose. Sirens blared and screams are all through New York, people are pushing out out of the building screaming crying and afraid for their life. Firefighters are running into the tower knowing that they may never come out alive. CRASH, BANG! A second plane hit the other tower, it goes up in flames as it slowly crumbles to pieces. All of a sudden...bodys, falling from the sky, they burst with blood as they hit the hard pavement. Some are still on the tower...104 story's up. The town was painted red with the blood of the 9/11 jumpers. [last week was when 9/11 happened and I though I would just write abt it and the 9/11 jumpers 🙏🏻]

SOL

Stomp stomp stomp. My shoes echo in the hallway as me and Arely race to the door. I hear the piter- pater  of the rest of the class far behind us, we stop to catch our breath and Erick walks up to the window, gazing into the class room. Then, BANG Arely was quick to push Erick’s face into the window. We started to laugh and Erick hid his face behind his folder and I made arely say sorry. After there was a small mark he left on the glass due to the oil on his forehead.
